ABOUT ABIDING (ABS)

Abiding is essentially a bible study gathering for all women; however, it’s a holistic experience where women can unmask, unfurl, and feel heard and seen.

ABS exists to bring liberation, identity, and inspiration to all women through the love of God.

ABS gathers for bible study and community involvement. We believe that the bedrock of faith includes communal activity, supporting womanhood, and celebrating joy.

Belief System

a·bid·ing

/əˈbīdiNG/

“to remain” “to stay or dwell” “to live.”

Our approach to a relationship with God is contemplative; a walk of faith free from striving and full of surrender.

We utilize our spiritual disciplines as primary tools for spiritual growth, but we are mindful that they aren’t performative tools for God to accept us.

We believe that Christ was born, crucified, and resurrected to bring redemption to humanity.

A contemplative life of faith is defined as a profound, steady union with God, characterized by love and often intimate sharing between friends. It is not merely the absence of conflict, but a quiet rest and awareness of the divine presence that transcends intellectual understanding.

We believe in hearing the word of God, receiving it, speaking it, and acting on it.

We believe in the characteristics of a spirit-filled life:

Divine indwelling: To live life experiencing the Holy Spirit active in our daily walk (water baptism is an outward sign of our inward transformation)

Transformation: When we accept Christ and commit to a faith-filled life, we experience a daily change in our thinking, living, and being.

Active Presence: We partner with God on His plans for our lives. We engage in community to enrich our walk and hold joy and accountability. We nurture our relationship with God to better understand the world and how He operates in it.
