Black Boddess

A Documentary Film

A riveting look into the medical experiences of Black women in America and a return to wholeness.

About the Film

Black Boddess is a 50-minute documentary that plunges into the lived reality of Black women navigating a medical system that was never fully built for them. Through intimate personal testimonies, the film illuminates the devastating consequences of medical dismissal, neglect, and systemic disparity — and reclaims the full humanity of Black women in their bodies, their health, and their lives.

Rooted in the story of creator LaShanna Moore's own mother, whose physician refused to sign her death certificate, the film is at once a personal act of grief, a public act of justice, and a prophetic call to Black women to return to themselves.
